“ I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was very meaty they added other types of meat too like pulled beef. I don't get much of the steak they had like a mixture. It was a typical steak burrito to me. It wasn't fire or bomb. Just a regular burrito. I came because I was hungry. ”
“ Friendly staff 247, Closest Mexican food to Mexico, Southern California style. We find it amusing ppl go in there for hamburgers too.Non alcoholic joint.Everything is A m a z i n g! Family Friendly. Bar nearby if so desired. Our family joint for life!! We Discovered it in the 1990's ”
“ Everything here is delicious. My favorite are the breakfast burritos! They're huge and I always split it with another person. Very fast service even if there is a line. ”
“ The food was pretty good and portions were decent but the star of the burrito was the tortilla, the fillings were so juicy that most taco shops tortillas would've ripped and made it really messy but this tortilla, it held the juices in till the very last bite. I'm from San Diego the land of great Mexican food but overall I would eat here again. ”
“ Forgot to take a photo but great size burrito! Flavor 10/10. Service was quick and they were pretty busy. We got a breakfast chorizo burrito and it way great. Will be back next time in this area. The restaurant was kinda small but lots of seating so should be able to sit. Will for sure be back to try the asada y pollo! ”
“ Their veggie quesadilla is still great and filling, although they've raised their prices since last time. Their bean cheese and rice is top notch as well. Still worth it! ”
“ I'm all for a gimmick and as someone who has indulged often in the Bay Area style super burritos, I couldn't pass up the chance to enjoy something in the same realm as King Burrito. This place is exactly what I'm looking for in a no pretense eatery, fair prices, good service, and hearty, tasty food. Portland local dives don't get much better than this. Located in North Portland just outside of Arbor Lodge Park, King Burrito is a small eatery with handful of tables and chairs with the classic open kitchen with the above-counter wall menu (#1). A majority of the folks coming through are coming for takeout and unless it's bad timing, I've never really seen this place full. The fluorescent lighting and semi-shoddy bathrooms aren't major reasons to dine-in but the food most certainly is. As of right now, all burritos are in the $8-9 range. The famed king burrito is really a chile relleno with refried beans, steak picado in their in-house avocado sauce in an oversized flour tortilla. The carne asada and carnitas have been my go-tos but I think their cabeza (head) and lengua is an outstanding option. Their breakfast burritos should be considered, especially the chorizo con papas and the machaca. Every burrito is going to be littered with onions, so for folks who aren't all about the cebolla life, be sure to mention it ahead of time. Overall, the burrito is an absolute gut bomb and will trigger an immediate food coma post consumption. Anything in a burrito can also be done in taco form. Most of the tacos are in the $3-4 range at this point but similarly to the burritos, quite sizable and served with good portions. They also have non-taco options, such as hot dogs, burgers, taquitos, and quesadillas. The latter is the only thing I'd order, but to each his or her own. The service is quick and the staff is mainly Spanish speaking. There is usually a young man who is handling food orders in the front and on the phone. A majority of their parking is in the back and they're no longer open past 11pm on any day of the week. Lastly to management: I realize prices are fluctuating everywhere, but none of the prices from the outdated website (#2) or the counter menus (slightly outdated) match the wall menu prices (current). This will cause some confusion for new customers and maybe disappointment for many others. __________ (#1) A common theme amongst many ethnic takeout eateries. (#2) Beware of their severely outdated website menu prices, which are at $5.50 a burrito and $1.50 a taco. ”
“ I stopped in looking for a good authentic burrito and I was not disappointed. I ordered a bean & rice burrito with cilantro & onion and King Burrito did just that! Service was fast, there were tables to dine in, and a seating area next to the pick up window for to go orders. I will definitely go back for more burritos! I saw that they had a vegetarian menu as well. *They do not offer any plant based substitutes* ”
“ carnitas burrito was so good i feel guilty.. like i'm cheating the rest of the world cuz they don't have one of these in their mouth.. but i do.. and i'm gonna do it again.. listen y'all, their verde sauce is so good i want to write inappropriate comments.. i want to kiss full on the mouth the mastermind that understands how to balance heat AND flavor.. i wish i could take a gallon back to miami.. i'm not sure i can talk about the burrito without openly weeping.. good thing i'm only writing about it.. the pork was perfect with crispy bits which are NECESSARY for good carnitas.. this burrito, combined with the verde sauce, may have actually saved my soul.. and horchata to go along with it?!? how the hell is it so good and not chalky AT ALL?!? HOW DO YOU DO IT?!? i've tried and failed.. i'm coming back for more before i leave and will always return when i come back to visit the portlands.. ”
“ Hole in the wall burrito place with good prices, big servings and good customer service. The place must be good with the constant flow of locals dining in and taking out. Menu is on the side wall with a bunch of different burrito options. We ordered King Burritos (how can you NOT order that on your first visit to King Burrito?) and a side of chips and salsa. Burrito was huge! Large and juicy chunks of steak. We requested hot and mild taco sauce. The Chips are hot and fresh with a chunky homemade salsa with onions tomatoes and spices. I'm more used to a wet and saucy salsa. This one was different and onolicious! Lots of free parking out back. There's also street parking. Don't let the rustic exterior fool you. Again, the locals know a good deal of ono food and this place was busy! ”
